We put out the call to the Nomads for suggestions on great places to go for a cocktail with a client or colleague. We received some great suggestions. Peruse these and send us your additions. We hope to build out a Cocktail section for each city on the site.
Boston, MA
The Boston Harbor Hotel — Look out over Boston Harbor while you enjoy your martini.
The Four Seasons Hotel — We don’t often recommend chain properties but the second floor bar near Aujourd’hui (when it is open) is quiet — almost like a private club — and overlooks the Boston Public Garden.
Cambridge, MA
Rialto at the Charles Hotel. It’s elegant and has in-building parking. The Parmesan cheese straws are wonderful.
Jerusalem, Israel
The Terrace at the David Citadel Hotel
London, England
Claridge’s Bar at Claridge’s Hotel
The Dukes Hotel is described as “the best for my clients.”
Los Angeles, California
The poolside bar at the Hotel Roosevelt in Hollywood. The last time we at the Roosevelt we ran into Sean Penn, Lindsay Lohan, and Prince. Unfortunately, none of them bought us a drink.
Miami, Florida
The Setai on South Beach
New Orleans, Louisiana
The Columns
New York, New York
The Campbell Apartment — a “real gem” in Grand Central Terminal (the entrance is on the Vanderbilt Avenue side of the station)
Paris, France
The Hotel Meurice and The Hotel de Crillon are exceedingly elegant and offer the quiet to “do a deal.”
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The Continental in Old City (if you are under 45) and the Swann Lounge at the Four Seasons (if you are over 45)
The bar at the Ritz-Carlton across from City Hall
San Francisco, California
The Slanted Door — “great downtown location”
Of course, the tried at true Top of the Mark at the Mark Hopkins Hotel. It’s a bit touristy but if someone hasn’t been to San Francisco, the views can’t be beat.
Vancouver, British Columbia
The bar at the top of the Sandbar restaurant overlooking the ocean on Granville Island
Wilmington, Delaware
The Washington Street Ale House has “great food and great surroundings.”
Zurich, Switzerland
Le Terrasse at the Bar au Lac
