I can enthusiastically second the rec for Shadow in the Silk Road. That wonderful book got me from Logan to Heathrow in the blink of an eye last fall. Let me throw in a couple of further ideas in the non-fiction department and one novel: Green to Gold (how business can profit from saving the environment) The Element (finding your creative sweet spot) and The Collector of Worlds (a novel about the real life adventurer Sir Richard Francis Burton, the Victorian Age's most extraordinary explorer). By the way, love the blog -- look forward to it's coming out, and read it first thing every time. Keep up the great work.
