About Us

“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. ”
Saint Augustine

Business travel — it’s fun, it’s glamorous, it’s a night socked in at SFO or a 26-hour flight from Shanghai to Boston. In a middle seat.

Welcome to Executive Nomad — the idiosyncratic, highly selective guide to making the most of business travel. We believe that there is the opportunity for enjoyment in even the most grueling business trip. All it takes is a little imagination and a little local knowledge.

There are plenty of guides that strive to be comprehensive but our approach is different. First, we are dedicated to executive business travel. Second, Executive Nomad presents a few hand-chosen selections in each category. Each is selected because it provides a superior product, service, or experience for the business traveler with a sense of style and adventure. And we always look for great value.

Our hotels always offer high speed Internet access and other amenities that are a requirement for a business person on the road. Most important, we feel they offer a sense of place as well as comfort and amenities. We know that you know how to find Starwood, Ritz, Four Seasons, and other chain properties so we only include them when we find an exceptional property.

Our restaurants are all “client safe.” Some are well known while others are relatively obscure. We don’t list the big chains because they aren’t as interesting as the independents. We proudly admit that we have a bias toward those with above average wine lists.

Shop ’til You Drop offers you places to find an unusual gift (for a colleague, a special someone — or yourself). We focus on those stores that offer distinctive merchandise and exceptional service.

One Hour Tourist helps you catch a bit of local culture between appointments. The next time a meeting is canceled you’ll have something more entertaining and enriching to do than hanging around the hotel.

It’s all about the ride. You owe it to yourself to seek out a memorable restaurant (be it a taco stand or Michelin star holder), take even a few minutes to experience the sights, and settle into a hotel that understands you’ll be checking e-mail, voice mail, and the headlines on CNN — all at the same time.

We can’t do it alone. Send us your suggestions for restaurants, hotels, shops, sights, and services to add to Executive Nomad. Join the community of Nomads who make the most of every mile.

Catch you in the way-back,
Eric J. McNulty
